Chuck E. Cheese Puppets

Chuck E. Cheese's has used various puppets over the years since the early 1990s. The puppets only appear on screens during showtapes. With the newer stages such as Studio C and Circles of Light, they are used in place of the more expensive animatronics. It is unknown what happened to the previous puppets used from 1991-2013, but it's likely they were sold/auctioned off to collectors. The puppets talk and move in the same manner as the Muppet characters from The Muppet Show and Sesame Street.

1991

These puppets were only used for the January 1991 showtape. Some of these puppets could be considered prototypes.

1991-1994

These puppets were used in shows and intermissions during the Tux Era. Chuck wears his tuxedo, and Helen has her black and white hair. In some segments like CEC TV News, and in some showtapes, like “Games” (from July 1991), Chuck wears his classic red PTT vest. In 1994, Jasper and Pasqually were modified.

Between 1996 and 1999, they used the walkaround costume characters, with animatronic heads.

1999-2013

These puppets were from Studio C, and look more like the walkarounds, and later the plastic animatronics. Helen has her yellow hair and cheerleader outfit like the animatronic from the Alabama locations which was originally green but then was changed to purple. Chuck is rarely seen, with his most notable appearances being in 2 of the "Chuck E's Rockin' Rhymes" skits and "Every Boy, Every Girl". The main reason for this is likely because most showtapes with the puppets were made for the Studio C stages. Munch looks like the previous version.

2013-present

The five puppets were used in the New Studio C version, now used (including Chuck) in the "act" format. They are the ones used currently in showtapes and YouTube videos. They have been updated many times (with the exception of Chuck E).
